The Catford Arts Trail opens 27 homes and venues across SE6 on 10 and 11 October, 11am to 5pm, free. It marks ten years since the first trail in 2016.

The Catford Arts Trail returns on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, and this year is its tenth anniversary. Artists and makers open 27 homes, studios and public venues across SE6, from 11am to 5pm on both days. Entry is free.

The dates, times and venue list come from the organisers’ 2026 map, published on the Catford Arts website. The about page confirms “this will be our 10th anniversary”.

How it started

The first trail ran in 2016, set up by five local artists. It spread over two weekends in September and October that year, with 75 artists and makers showing work in 30 venues. The organisers counted 9,170 visits to venues across those two weekends.

It is still run by volunteers, now a team of ten. The map for 2026 lists close to 100 artists, makers and groups.

What you will see

The work on show covers most things people make by hand. The map’s categories include:

  • painting, drawing and illustration
  • ceramics and pottery
  • jewellery, textiles and knitwear
  • print, cyanotype and photography
  • glass, stained glass and mosaic
  • woodcraft, sculpture and installation
  • papercut, calligraphy and artisan perfume

Most venues are the artists’ own homes and gardens, which is the point of an open-house trail. Many artists sell work on the day.

The public venues

Alongside the private homes, the trail uses several public and community spaces:

  • Wild Cat Wilderness, SE6 4PL
  • Catford Bridge Tavern, SE6 4RE
  • The Catford House, SE6 4SP
  • Brownhill Baptist Church, SE6 1AU
  • Corbett Community Library, SE6 1RQ
  • St Andrew’s Hall, SE6 1XD
  • Abbotshall Community Centre and The Carton at Abbotshall, SE6 1SQ
  • Bellingham Bowls Club, SE6 1EQ

The map warns that “public venues may have adjusted opening hours”, so check before making a special trip to one of them. Most of the private venues sit in the streets between Catford, Hither Green and Bellingham, around Mountsfield Park and the Corbett estate.

The stamp prize draw

Visitors can pick up a stamp at each venue. The map says that collecting ten different stamps enters you into a prize draw for one of ten £50 vouchers. The vouchers can be spent on art from any artist on the trail. Entries go in at any venue by Sunday 11 October.

What it means for you

  • It is free, open to all ages, and there is no booking. Pick a cluster of venues on the map and walk between them.
  • Opening times are 11am to 5pm on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.
  • The artist listings on the Catford Arts site show each maker’s work and venue number.
  • Catford Bridge station is next to the Catford Bridge Tavern venue. Engineering works close Hither Green station and several other Southeastern stations on the same weekend, so check our Lewisham roadworks and travel page before you set out.
